Putnam County Parks and Recreation has five parks. Each park has many amenities to make your day special and memorable. Whether you’re looking for an exciting water slide or wave pool located in Valley Park or just having a lovely family picnic at our Hometown Roadside Park. We would like to invite you to come out to see us and enjoy our hospitality.

Valley Park (60 Acres)

Waves of Fun Water Park, Valley Park Community Center, 18-Hole Mini Golf Course, Baseball and Softball Fields, Tennis Courts, Beach Volley Ball Court, Hernshaw Soccer Field, Multi-Purpose Fields, Stocked Catch & Release Ponds, 4 Miles of Walking Trails, Outdoor Amphitheatre, Seasonal Synthetic Ice Rink, 5 Picnic Shelters, Large Picnic Shelter (seats 250), Fenced-in Dog Park with Obstacles.

Hometown Roadside Park (2 Acres)

Picnic Shelters, Swings, Historic Roadside Markers, See-Saw, George Washington Memorial Marker, Playgrounds.

Esther & Norman WALTER Memorial NATURE PARK

Located on Red House Hill in Putnam County offering 1 mile nature trail

From Teays Valley exit 39 to the foot of Red House hill: 6.6 miles

  1. Interstate to Winfield light at Wendy’s – 5 miles
  2. Light to bridge – .7 miles
  3. Right off bridge, Red House hill on left
  4. From that point to Wilkie Road is 3.1 miles Parking for Nature trail is 1 mile

From Nitro exit to Red House hill: 10.1 miles

  1. Stay on Rt. 62 to Red House hill on right
  2. From that point to Wilkie Road is 3.1 miles Parking for Nature trail is 1 mile
